Dr. Nathaniel Norment, Jr. is a professor in the Department of English at Morehouse College, where he serves as the Director of the Writing Center, The Black Ink Project, and Morehouse's National Writing Project. His publications include several notable works, including African American Studies: The Discipline and Its Dimensions (2019), The African American Studies Reader (2001, 2007), Readings in African American Language: Aspects, Features and Perspectives (Volume 1, 2003; Volume 2, 2005), and The Addison Gayle, Jr. Reader (2009). Dr. Norment holds a B.S. from Ball State University, an M.S. from Saint Francis University, and a Ph.D. from Fordham University.
