Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado is an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies and History and the Director of the Public History and Historic Preservation Program at Morehouse College. With nearly 20 years of experience studying the history and culture of African Americans throughout the Black Atlantic World, she has dedicated her career to documenting and teaching the African-American experience through various mediums, whether in the classroom, museums, or in the field. Dr. Sims-Alvarado is the author of Georgia and the Power of the Vote and Atlanta and the Civil Rights Movement, 1944-1968.
